Abigail's 2 Year Check-Up

Abigail had her 2 year check-up on Monday.  Yes, I know that I am a little late getting her check-up, since her birthday was in November and it is February!  We just haven't had a chance to go.

She weighed 30 pounds, which is the 80th percentile, and she is 2'11" tall, which is the 64th percentile.  The doctor said that everything looked great and that she was just where she should be.

The doctor asked me how many words Abigail was currently speaking: 25-50; 50-100 ... ummmm, 50-100, but probably over 100.  The doctor said, Okay.  Well, she will soon start to speak in sentences and more complex phrases.  I said that she already does and has been for some time now.  He was shocked and said that she was very advanced in her language development.  Really?  I assumed that all children her age were on the same level as her -- all of the other kids in her daycare class are.  Then he told me to limit her TV time to an hour a day ... hmmm ... well, considering that our trip from home to daycare is around 20 minutes one way and she watches her DVD player, she wouldn't have any time left to watch TV at home!  So, I will continue letting her watch as much TV as she wants because it hasn't seemed to hold her back her so far!

So, I just wanted to update the blog with her 2 year check-up.  I am going to try to scan and post more pictures from her birthday party soon.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Abigail Kait!!!

Two years ago today, we were at Brookwood Hospital waiting to welcome a little girl into our world. Abigail Kait was born at 3:33 pm on November 17, 2008. We certainly weren't prepared for what came next -- the joy, the love, the sleepless nights. She is such an amazing, beautiful, loving little girl and we are so thankful to have her in our lives. I can't wait to see what the future holds for her and the plan that God has for her life. Happy 2nd Birthday, Abigail Kait!
