Spanish!

When I picked up Abigail yesterday from Daycare, her information sheet said that they reviewed their Letters and Numbers in English and Spanish.  I figured Abigail wouldn't have learned her Spanish numbers in one day and didn't mention it.  When we got home, we were watching Nick Jr. and one of the commercials talks about all the things children can learn from watching Nick Jr.  Examples are Bats - they sleep all day and stay up all night; an Architect designs buildings; and learning their numbers in Spanish - Uno, Dos, Tres ... and I hear Abigail saying the numbers with them in SPANISH!  I walk over there and asked her to tell me her numbers in Spanish.  Without hesitating, she said, "Uno, Dos, Tres, Cuatro, Cinco, Seis, Siete!!"  She counted to seven in Spanish!!!  Since then she has counted up to ten, but she forgets two sometimes.  :o) And she has now learned to sing "Jesus Loves Me".  She got a baby doll for Christmas that sings "Jesus ...

Moving Up and Mother's Day

Image
The director of Abigail's daycare left a memo in her cubby this week ... Abigail is moving up!!  She will be visiting the Transition Room starting Monday, May 23 and continue to visit more each day and by Friday, she will be in the Transition Room full time!!  It's hard to believe that she is moving up again.  It seems like she should still be in the Toddler class!  She is growing up too fast!!! Sunday was Mother's Day and Abigail made me a cute little flowerpot at daycare. She asked to see it Sunday morning and I handed it to her, reminding her to be very careful because the flowerpot was breakable.  She looked at it for a second and turned to me.  She said, "HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY, Mommy!!  I love you!!", handed me the flowerpot, and gave me a big hug.  Man, she really knows how to get to me.

Easter 2011

Image
We had a great Easter with all of our family.  We attended 3 different Easter gatherings.  Nanny and Pawpaw's Easter was on Saturday afternoon and Abigail really enjoyed playing with her cousins Braylon and Bailey.  Here are some pictures from Saturday: Finding her first egg. Showing off her basket full of eggs. The Easter Bunny visited Abigail at Meme and Granddaddy's house Easter morning.  Here is the basket of goodies he left for her: Abigail also got baskets of goodies from Meme, Granddaddy and LaLa and Nanny and Pawpaw, but I don't have pictures. Sunday, after attending church at Liberty Baptist with Dustin's family, we went to his Mawmaw's for Easter lunch and another egg hunt with the kids.  Here are the only pictures I could get of Abigail over there: Finally, we went to Dustin's grandmother's house and had dinner and one last egg hunt for Abigail, Ty, and Levi. Abigail found the prize egg!! We h...

Gymnastics

On Friday, Abigail will start taking gymnastics at daycare every week.  Her friend, Nora Layne, started attending "nastics" and Abigail wanted to go with her.  So, she went to a free class on Friday and loved it!  We got her signed up yesterday to start taking it every Friday. Last Friday, she said that they did flips, "side to side" and jumping.  She was demonstrating them for us last night on the bed.  I'll try to get some video of her soon doing her "nastics" and post it on here.

All of Abigail's pictures are up on Miranda Cunningham's website.  Go to Imagination Photography and check them out!

Abigail and I went to Buck's Pocket yesterday to have her pictures taken by Miranda Cunningham ( Imagination Photography ).  Abigail had so much fun playing around and hamming it up for the camera.  I can't wait to see the final product and Miranda has already posted a "Sneak Peek" on her blog and Facebook page.  Here are the 5 "sneak peek" pictures!

Miss Independent

Abigail decided earlier this week that she was ready for her bath while Dustin and I were still eating dinner.  She kept telling me that she was ready for her bath and I asked her to wait until I was finished eating.  Finally, she came into the dining room and said "I'm ready for my bath!"  I looked over and saw that she was completely naked -- she had taken off her dress and diaper and was indeed ready for her bath.  After the initial shock, I ran after her to put a diaper back on her, but she thought I was playing and instead ran away from me laughing.  Also this week, while getting her ready for bed, I got her pajamas and threw them on the bed toward her while I went into the kitchen to get her sippy cup of milk ready.  Then, we heard a noise and Dustin went into the bedroom to check on her -- she had been trying to put her pajamas on by herself and somehow ended up on the floor.  We don't know if she fell off trying to put her ...
